Need for Speed Carbon is a racing game, developed by Electronic Arts, with all-out car action. The aim is to beat other racers in order to conquer their neighborhoods. This title immerses the player into the illegal world of street racing, driving for your freedom against police and other enemies. New cars and improved gameplay will draw you in to discovering this underground world.
This new version incorporates some interesting new elements and keeps some of the most popular characteristics from the previous title, NFS Most Wanted. The open-world concept remains, expanding into areas such as San Juan, and it includes more variety than Palmont City. The diversity is great not only because of new cars but also because of its stages. Newly designed, perilous speedways are where your skills will be tested in adrenaline-filled races, forcing you to risk your vehicle in different settings, such as canyons or city routes. It also has a multiplayer mode, a true stand-out thanks to online connectivity.
The visual aspect of Need for Speed Carbon is good, and it has several interesting screen elements. The blur effect, used during the nitro boost, increases the feeling of speed for racers in a very arcade-game fashion. The light effects on the cars are not very realistic, as they are too shiny during night races. Despite this detail, the graphics are rather good and have been updated to take advantage of high performance GPUs.
Car variety and gameplay
You can also play the online multiplayer version with your customized car. The variety of cars in this title enhances the game. Amongst the main cars are the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX model, the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Chevrolet Camaro and the Nissan Skyline. Depending on which one you select, your racing style will be different. There are more higher-quality customizing options available than ever before thanks to the integrated Autosculpt technology.

Gameplay is quite similar to the previous version, but with enhanced physics. The scenery elements of the city can be destroyed if you run over them. Drifting in curves can give you an advantage against your rivals, so you will need to polish your driving style in order to beat the different crews in this adventure. Ultimately, obtaining more resources will give you access to more car models, such as muscles, tuners or sports cars. There are more models to download, thanks to the official content developed by EA.

Stunning and Powerful Racing Video Game with Full of Action
By Isa Almenanza

Need for Speed Carbon is one of my favorite racing video game. It is a stunning game with full of action, developed by Electronic Arts. What I loved about in this game is that, it is full of actions and easy to play. NFS was a better looking game. The cars and the environment of the game just blew me away. The game had the best lighting effects and it gives me adrenaline in my arms every time I play it.
It is an arcade-style racing video game that’s why many kids also love this game. The best part of the game is that each level is divided into zones and in every zone you will find a different car racing event.
And if I win in at least two events in a level, it will put me under control. If I have taken over all the other zones, I can be the head of the crew in a given territory.
Playing this game is exciting. Every level makes my heart beat faster. It is a fun and powerful game. In every zone, you will face different crew bosses and some of the events will test your patience. That’s the highlight of this racing video game.
- It has a more solid FMV sequences
- This software has a lot of customization options
- Missing much of the elements that made the last few games fun
- The game has a frustrating police chase
The emotion and the Need for Speed Carbon in your PC

Run as you never did before in these new race tracks, avoiding the police and increasing your car collection. Need for Speed Carbon is the best similar adaptation of a Fast & Furious movie I’ve seen ever before. It has deep plot content, something that is not so usual in this game franchise. It follows the spirit of the previous NFS Most Wanted and goes beyond it in quality and variety. The night tracks look spectacular along with the light effects from the city and cars’ lights. The graphics on this game are really detailed, and I find them impressive once you use the nitro and everything get blurred.
The story plot drives you to beat other skilled racers in order to conquer their territories. The different members of the crew that you can get beating them will add their skills and abilities in different areas of the game. For example, you can use some of your new partners to fix your car in case it is damaged. In general, the game is very entertainment, and you will spend some hours trying to get different car models available. A great racing title of the popular action franchise brought by EA.
- Lots of cars and race tracks
- Incredible plot and enemies to beat
- Great graphic section with nice effects
- It would need to be longer
- More customization options would be great
